  1. Product Overview

The Kcom DIA Service offers our Channel Partners a range of service options to support customer needs for internet bandwidth.  These include the following access options:

  • Ethernet First Mile (EFM): this service uses a copper pair to delivery internet access up to a maximum of 10Mb.  This service is the ideal next step for end users who have out grown the DSL services.
  • Ethernet Fibre: this provides fibre access using options for 10Mb, 100Mb and 1Gb bearer circuits with the option to flex the actual bandwidth. These higher order bandwidths are for large office or data centre requirements.

In addition to the above service options Kcom DIA can be configured as:

  • Uncontended DIA: this service is fully uncontended and symmetric with network latency guarantees so that you can offer DIA services, which will allow end users to use VoIP, telepresence and thin client services.
  • Contended DIA: this is a symmetric service, contended at a ratio of 5:1 (no network latency guarantees). 

Both the Uncontended and Contend DIA services have full service level agreements, these are 24 hours for EFM and 4 hours for Ethernet. Both services are monitored continuously by our National Operational Centre (NOC).
